I was born at 6th and girard ave and go to St Peter the Apostle Church for Mass and Confession on a weekly basis and it was not until 5/28/2014 when walking up 5th street that I saw the plaque for Officer V. Foley . What a wonderful idea too honor our fallen men in blue. I can promise our Philadelphia Police Department this, that I will always visit that plaque when I go to St Peters and say a prayer for Officer Foley and the ultimate sacrifice he made on that fateful day.God Bless our Men in Blue

Officer Foley, you are thought of and honored on this day. It brings me joy to read the reflection from your great grand niece. It's one thing for strangers to honor you, but it speaks volumes about the man you were that your influence is still felt and appreciated in your family by generations who never knew you.

You gave the ultimate sacrifice for your city defending the honor and integrity of the PPD. Though I only know you through our family's stories - you represent a large part of my personal hero's history - as my grandfather is your namesake. Thank you for the courage and strength that your legacy has inspired me with. You are never forgotten - as I visit you every time I visit my grandpop. Tell him we say hi...see you both in heaven.
Thanks for watching over us...

Officer Foley:

No officer who has served and paid the ultimate price should be without a reflection. With that in mind, thank you for your service and keep a watch on all who are serving in this Holioday Season.
