It has been 49 years since I lost my dad and it makes me sad to think of all the grandchildren and great grandchildren he never got to meet. He would have been a fabulous grandfather as he was a fabulous father. After all these years I still miss him.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
GOD Bless

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 45th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace. I am sure you are proud that your family has continued your legacy of protecting and serving.

I was only 7 years old when my Uncle Walter was taken from us. He was the first of a long line of family members who became police officers. My Dad (Walter's younger brother) was also a NYPD Police Officer and I am sure my Grandfather "Pop" had to be so proud of them. I know the feeling, because my oldest son Michael became a police officer with Tampa PD last year. God Rest Uncle Walter and Dad's Souls....

I regret that I never got to meet my grandfather, but I feel like he is in my heart everyday. Hearing stories from when I was very young makes me feel like he is with me always. He is a hero and a great man. I try to live up to his legacy everyday. I know he is in Heaven looking down on our family and his fellow police officers.

OFFICER WALTER FERGUSON WAS MY DAD. HE WAS ONLY IN MY LIFE FOR 19 YEARS BUT THE LOVE HE SHARED WITH ME WILL LAST FOREVER. HE WAS A GENTLE, KIND, AND LOVING FATHER. HE NEVER RAISED HIS VOICE, SHOWED HIS TEMPER, OR SAID ANYTHING UNKIND. WHAT AN EXAMPLE HE SET FOR HIS CHILDREN. I WILL FOREVER MISS HIM.

I said a little prayer today for Patrolman Ferguson and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.

Patrolman Ferguson,
As one officer wrote in another fallen officer's reflection-"No fallen officer should be without a reflection." I would like to say thank you for your service to the citizens of New York City.
