I wish I’d had the chance to meet my cousin. I’ve heard so much about her over the years. What a beautiful person— a life ended far too soon. Thank you for your service, Wendy. ❤️

I went to Hocking Technical College (now Hocking College) with her. We worked on the campus police together. She was a very intelligent woman and great to work with.

Thanksgiving 2018 is this week and since it seems like I now cross into WVA quite often just can't do it and not have my old friend and her family come to mind.
Your name will forever be in I270 near where we lost you.
The lights that are installed in the trunks of police cars that flash when the trunk lid is up most younger officers and troopers don't know are forever to be known as Wendy Lights.

I always enjoyed chatting with you and marvel at how much you impacted the OSP in your 3 short years. I still remember when I learned you were injured and how many officers honored you at your funeral. I cannot believe your EOW was so long ago. Rest easy Wendy.

My name is not important. Wendy Pulled me over and arrested me for DUI back in the late 80's. I was just discharged fro the USCG and was driving home when i should have got a cab. Spending the time in jail changed my life. I had time to think about how many lives i was putting at risk. Wendy changed my life. Thank You Wendy. Im sorry You paid the ultimate price. You are a Hero. God Bless You Wendy.

Tpr. Everett: Though I never met you personally, I will never forget that morning at GHQ when we got the word about you. It just seemed that time stopped; and even those of us who never knew you personally felt the same as if we had lost a family member, a sister--because we had. I hadn't been on the Patrol very long when we lost you--but it made such a deep impact and still does to this day. Rest assured you will never be forgotten by those on the Ohio State Highway Patrol, no matter how many years pass by. Job well done, Tpr. Everett, job well done ...

On This Unfortunate 25th Anniversary Day of this fine Trooper's passing. My heart felt thoughts & prayers go out to Trooper Everett's family & friends that knew her. Trooper Wendy Everett made her mark in law enforcement in her short lived career from articles I read about her as a Ohio State Trooper.Even though she is not here making her rounds anymore, but you can bet she is still doing her duties up in the heavens above and keeping a close watch on all men & women of law enforcement. Rest in peace Trooper Everett.

Everett family, I extend my prayers for you and ask God to comfort you as the 25th Anniversary of Trooper Everett's accident approaches. She is a true hero and I know you are proud of her. I am also proud of my brother, Trooper Jody Dye, who was also killed by a drunk driver along I-270 in Columbus in 1985. He is also from the Parkersburg area. We attended Parkersburg South for awhile. Small world. Like my brother, your Trooper is missed and not forgotten.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 25th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

I am sorry for the reflection I made to Trooper Wendy Everett the other day. I stated she worked at the Centerville Post instead of the Circleville Post in Ohio. I just did not want to cause any confusion to a great officer to the Ohio Highway Patrol. RIP Trooper & God Bless your family.

Thank You Trooper Wendy Everett for your loyal & brave service to the Ohio State Police, Centerville Post. From the stories I read about yourself, you sure were a top notch Trooper for sure! Its a disgrace how a drunk driver can get only 18 months in prison for what he did to you. And you have to do life in a cemetary. And just think you were only getting started in your young career. You can rest easy blue angel, you served your Post with heroism. Thank You.
