Reflections for Police Officer Ronald I. English
Ronald English was my Grandfather. His son Ronald is my dad. I wish I had the chance to meet him, to know him. In my mind I picture a kind man who loved his family and had great work ethic. My dad never talked about him but then again I did not see my dad that much. He always was in and out of my life and I would go years without talking to him or seeing him. I moved away from Michigan in 1996 and never saw my dad or spoke to him again. My mom knows very little about him too, so I am so happy to see other reflections on this wall. I would love to connect with those who knew him or have any connection with him. As I write this I am a 34 year old mom of a 3 yr old little boy. I watch him with his dad and grandfather and am happy to know that he will have memories that I never will but it also makes me sad. I wonder too, if my own dad would have been a better father if he was not robbed of his at only 8 yrs old. Regardless, I am so glad to find this website so I can see what he looked like and pay my respects to him. Rest in Peace, I know I will get to meet you one day.

My father, Arthur LaVigne, served on the Detroit P.D. from 1954-1960 so he may have known you. He then went on to retire from the Flint P.D. in 1987. May God bless your family and may you rest in peace.

I was born on the day you died. I haven't been able to find out anything about your past. All I know is that we have 07/27/1959 and being badge & gun carriers in common. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. God Bless
