Jimmy Mac Donald was a very friendly and dedicated Officer for the City of Compton. He loved working in Compton as a police officer. He was a college student during his tenure with The Compton Police Department. He would come to work as a Reserve Office after he completed his classes for the day. He wanted to be a Compton Police Officer after he graduated from Long Beach State University. The night that Jimmy was killed he was scheduled to work with one officer but he asked the Sergeant to work with Kevin Burrell. It was Jimmy's last night as a reserve officer and he was scheduled to go to the San Jose Police Academy to begin his full-time career as a police officer for San Jose.

I will miss Jimmy for the rest of my life. He was a very special friend. I will always "Follow in the foot steps of this Hero."

Deputy Russell Townsley
Los Angeles Sheriff's Department

Jimmy,
The 9 year anniversary just passed since you left us. Not a day goes by that we don't think of you and miss you. We had a number of calls from our "Compton" boys and really appreciate them staying in touch.
You will always be our Hero and Angel in Blue.
Love
Mom & Dad

May God Bless Jimmy and Kevin and their loved ones they have left behind. Until we are all united together again.

Deputy Sheriff David E. Motts
Los Angeles County Sheriff Dept.

James MacDonald is truly a hero. He is such a lucky man to have such a wonderful and caring family. I have had the opportunity to meet his mother online. The way she wants to keep his memory alive is truly amazing. She is such a spectacular women and she has given me the strength to do the same for my fiance' (Joey Rodgers). When I get depressed and feel like I can't go on I remember this woman who has lost her son and the strength she has. I think Officer MacDonald would be so proud of his parents and family they are truly heros themselves.
