Reflections for Officer Lester Dorman

My name is Michael A. Fernandez #440, San Francisco Police Officer. I have been with the Department going on 31 years.

I am proud to say that the star I wear with pride every day is the one worn by Lester Dorman. I have worn it since day 1.

Retirement is just around the corner. I hope that I have worn such star in a way that Lester would approve. We are a great force. One of the best. The day I leave I hope I can walk without tears.

Thank you Lester for your sacrifice.

On the 87th anniversary of Officer Dorman's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Officer Dorman is not forgotten.
