"In November 1915, two Mexican laborers with stolen weapons raided local ranchers in the Mono Basin. Local citizens informed Sheriff Jim Dolan, who then went looking for the men. After locating them, he approached them without drawing his weapon, believing that he could take them into custody without incident. Dolan was shot and killed. Later a posse exchanged gunfire with the two men and killed them."

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 95th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
