Your heroism and service is honored today, the 79th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. How nice that your family is able to honor you on this site.

Each of you who has lost his or her life to the likes of such criminals has a better place to live in eternity than the criminals do. That, in itself, brings comfort to those left here on earth. The beat on Heaven's streets is walked by individuals who were willing to make the ultimate, unselfish sacrifice. What a glorious sight that must be at Heaven's gates! We rest easy knowing that with angels like you, and the other Heavenly LEOs, the beat goes on!
God Bless all of you!

When I was a child I saw the movie about Bonnie and Clyde. The movie made them seem oddly glamourous, and I actually felt sorry for their deaths. Now as an adult who is married to a law enforcement officer it makes me sick that these horrible people could in any way seem glamorous. They were dispicable human beings.
You died many years before I was born, but your sacrifice, and the sacrifice of your family is very much appreciated. Any coward can do horrible things, but only a hero can be a law enforcement officer.

Deputy Davis you are in great company now. You died as the others did,,serving your State and community trying to rid the world of those who hold no value on life. While they took nine officers,,it was your fellow Texas Lawman that hunted them down and ended it.

I stop by this website often after the death of two dear friends with the NCSHP (Troopers Calvin Taylor E.O.W. October 3, 2001 and Anthony Cogdill E.O.W. May 30, 2003).
We all grieve over the lives lost in the line of duty. I hope you can find some comfort knowing that there are countless prayers that go out for your family.
Marshal Batterson, you were a true hero. You will always be remembered.
These are senseless tragedies that never seem to stop. God Bless the men and women who continue to serve their communities in our great Nation.
...Gone, but never Forgotten....
