Dad,

Thank-you for protecting us along with so many for so many years. You accomplished so much in your short life, Pro-Football player, Chief of Police and then ran for Sheriff and was appointed Deouty Sheriff. Chasing a drunk driver, hitting a patch of ice only to have a hay truck with no lights on the back whatsoever be on the road causing your Police car to flip. The time you were held by a gun to your head, but fearless as you were you overpowered the person and arrested him along with several others that were illegally selling drugs, all by yourself, no back-up. There are so many story's dad, that only your family knows about, but your grand children will know the hero you were. Miss You so much!

I served in the US Army Vietnam with your son. He told me you made the ultimate sacrifice as sworn police officer in 1959. I never knew you but I know your son and if your anything like your son you would have been a great person to know. God Bless you my brother officer.
