I was 7 years old when my father was killed by that grenade. I remember the morning of his death as if it was yesterday.
His death has colored my whole life. I will forever wonder what my life would’ve been like had he lived.
I still miss you, Daddy.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 47th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. It is unfortunate that corruption was at the root cause of your death.

Rest In Peace
