Granddaddy,

I have never had the joy of knowing you. You were taken from our family when my father, John Sterner Clothier lost you at the young age of 13 years. He has shared many wonderful memories but mostly talks about the loving husband and father you were. Many years ago Daddy found a photo of you on your motorcycle, which all of your grandchildren cherish. You will always hold a special place in my heart.

Hello Chief, I have never left you a reflection, I should have, but I guess it takes a tragedy to make you realize. Your department lost a great COP, a great man and a great father. Tomorrow we will go and pay our respects to him, at no time will anyone of us understand why we are there. A young Father and a young COP are gone to soon. Officer Manning will probably never appear on this site except in connection with your name, consider it an honor CHIEF as we all know he will. Watch over us Chief and keep Officer Manning close by.
