Reflections for Mounted Watchman Clarence Meek Childress
Your heroism and service is honored today, the 93rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
Rest In Peace.

On today, the 89th anniversary of your murder, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrfifice for our Country and to the Patrol. You were the first of many BPAs who have died in the line of duty. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Clarence,
You were the first; a statistic in the minds of some. But you have paved the way for all of the Agents who have learned what "Honor First" means. We are sad that you died too early and we're proud to call ourselves your brothers and sisters in green. Keep watching ... you'll cut our sign as soon as we cross that Great Silent River.
