I am so sorry when I hear things like this have happened. Things that could have been avoided. My name is also Charles Carruth. I am USAF Retired and my son Chad is a Detective at Sheffield Police Dept. In Sheffield Alabama. I understand that the job these brave men do for the community is sometimes dangerous and I believe that all citizens should respect and help law enforcement whenever possible! They do a job that most people would never do. RIP Deputy Carruth

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 78th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
