52 years have passed since you gave your life to protect all of us. You will never be forgotten and to your family, your father was a very brave man. Thank you for your service to our country serving in the United States Air Force and your service to our beloved Blue & Gold. May God bless you and your family. You are with us forever.

Semper Fi Brother. I had just graduated from the CHP academy in Sept 1969. I didn’t know you but we all heard about your bravery and how you honored our beloved Patrol. Less than two months later we lost another four brave young Highway Patrolmen in Newhall. As we continue to lose our Brothers and Sisters in Blue we continue to honor your commitment to the safety and security of all our citizens. I live in Roseville now and see your dedication sign at mile post 108 every time I travel on I 80. God Bless you and your family and especially your loving daughter who has written about her love for you below many times.

On I-80 in California mile marker 108 is a portion of the highway dedicated to him. East bound side for sure.

Happened a couple weeks before I started with Placer County. I could tell that things were not normal and had turned the department upside down.

Although you passed before I was born, I continue your legacy of providing safety, service and security to the citizens of the great state of California. I hope that if I ever encounter the same situation that you did that fateful day 40 years ago, I act as bravely as you did. God bless you and your family.
