Happy Fathers Day in Heaven!

We miss you more every day. Another grandson graduated.
Two fine grandsons that you never got to meet are out of school. You would be bursting with pride!!!!

Another birthday in Heaven where you never grow old, but you are healthy and young. All of us miss you every day
and miss your reactions to all of the grandchildren and
their activities. You would be so proud of all of them.
You never got to meet any of them here so continue to
watch over all of us here until we meet again. I believe all of the ones you worked with at the Bridge are gone and
there is a complete new crew but continue to watch over everyone because we are living in dangerous times. The
tulips, at your grave, are beautiful!!

Merry Christmas in Heaven, The entire family misses you
even though it has been 19 years when you suddenly left us.
To us, it seems like yesterday and we miss your love for
this season of the year. You would always try to bring home
the biggest and bestest Christmas tree ever. It always had
to be better than your brothers! Your grandchildren talk of
you and ask many questions and they are so a part of you. We remember the good and bad times every day. One of your
grandchildren are now in college. You would be so proud of
each of them. They are such blessings and we are blessed.

It is hard to believe the time that has lapsed since you left us. And one of your grandchildren will be graduating in June. You would be so proud of him! Your memory lingers in our hearts every day. For so many questions there are sometimes no answers.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 18th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for solace for those who love and miss you.

It seems like only yesterday that you left us suddenly without warning, and yet, it has been eighteen years. You are always missed and we see you everyday in your grandchildren that you never got to meet. We always feel sad the eve before your anniversary and always glad when this particular holiday is gone. Sometimes it is hard to believe that in a split second your whole life changes.

My mind today is filled with thoughts of you. You loved
your children so much and were always proud of their
accomplishments. Now that each of them have their own
children, you would be even prouder. Happy Fathers Day

I was in the police academy when the word came down that we lost one of our finest at the Bay Bridge. Right then and there I realized that this job is dangerous and it was my time to scat like a cat if I wanted to....I Stayed in to graduate in July and put in almost 19 years before all the things that a police officer endures took a toll on my mind! So here I am half nuts and loving what I did as a career for 19 years...Watch over your fellow officers and I hope that you don't escort any more to the gates of heaven....Your new duty is to watch over them street soldiers officer........

Merry Christmas in Heaven!

Our memories are more than just a link to the past. They are what we have that lasts. They always remind us of the people we have held dear. They bring smiles, laughter and sometimes tears. But no matter what others may do or may say, nothing ever takes those special memories that we have
away from our hearts.

The grandchildren you never saw are so wonderful and caring. It is hard to believe that P.J. is going to be sixteen on Christmas Day and you have been gone for seventeen years. Christmas became special when he was born several months ahead of time and helped take away the pain of Christmas and gave us such joy with our first grandchild. You would be busting with pride!

To others you may be forgotten. but to us you will never be forgotten because you live in your grandchildren and your children. Our only strength has been our Faith!

Thinking of you and all of your loved ones today. I know that not a day has passed since you were called away from duty that your loved ones have not thought of you as you are carried in their hearts with never ending love. You will never be forgotten. Continue to watch over them and wrap your wings around them and protect them from harm. You are a true hero.

Dear "Jackie",

It is hard to believe that 17 years have passed since that awful day! It has been a struggle many days to keep walking. There are no magical words to cope with loss and grief; but, we are so thankful for our Faith. You would be so proud of your children and amazing grandchildren. You would need a U-haul to share all of their pictures. You would also love our new dog, "Pretzel". I can see you driving him all over town with your grandchildren's pictures.

However, when loneliness brings sorrow and dismay, we know that we can go to the heart where recollections are stored--the good, the bad and the in-between. Sometimes our heart aches over those times when we were angry and words were spoken that we can not take back and other times we remember with joy and laugh remembering. We know that our spirits are refreshed by the memories of the past because your spirit lives forever in the hearts of those who loved you and that you are just a memory away.

You are never forgotten by us even though we are apart.

Love,

Sandy

Dear "Jackie",

When you left us, the change was traumatic. Our routines were completely changed. However, what you have left behind is a part of you---your children and now the new and amazing generation---your grandchildren. The life benefits from their lives has been such a reward! You would have been so proud of each one. You always said you had great children and one bad dog!

With God's help, your family has made positive and tiny movements forward. Our loss has been Heaven's gain.

Happy Fathers Day!

We thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new.
We thought of you yesterday, and
the days before that too.

We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name.
All we have are memories
and your pictures in a frame.

Your memory is our keepsake.
with which we'll never part.
God has you in His keeping.
We have you in our hearts.

You would be so proud of your grandchildren. Each
one is so special. We can see you sharing all of
their accomplishments with everyone.

We hope you like the "special anchor" we placed at
your grave today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.

To Sandra,
I don't know you and didn't know your husband, but it blesses my heart to see that you are encouraging others as they face what you faced 16 years ago.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. (2 Corinthians 1:3, 4)

My prayer is that your Christmas is filled with God-given joy and the precious memories of your husband. I honor the life and service of Officer Thomas Crouch on this day.

Dear "Jackie",

Even though its been 16 years our hearts still ache with sadness and secret tears still flow. We remember the happy and sad times. You will never be forgotten and within our hearts is where you will always stay. Your grandchildren always ask questions about you. They would have brought you so much joy and delight. We know that we are always glad when this day is over because of the hurt and pain.

Love,
"Sandy"
