Well, Uncle Ed, it's been 60 years since you were killed. They listed your death as falling down the stairs but we always believed the prisoner pushed you, only God knows the truth. I just wanted to say I still think of you and guess we'll meet soon in Heaven. Give Aunt Marie a kiss for me.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 59th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect, not even 59 years.

Rest In Peace

Dear Mr. Burke,

I was always told that I was related to you (through my Aunt Marie Burke) I looked at your photo of you in uniform often while I was growing up. I became a police officer (Jennings, Missouri) in 1968 and spent 37 years in law enforcement. I feel that thinking of you often as a hero was one of the reasons I became a police officer. God bless you Mr. Burke.

Hi Uncle Ed: Although I've never met you as I was born in 1957, I want you to know how much you are loved and remembered by your kids (Nance, Tim, Jim & Tom) your oldest, Ed, is with you. I know you're proud of them.

Two brothers, Ed and Dan Burke, married two sisters Catherine and Helen McGuire. They lived and loved and had 12 great kids between them. They are all now together in Heaven having a "grand" ole time, as your Mom always said.

I loved your Mother (the only Grandparent I knew). Please give her a big hug for me. I look forward to meeting you some day. Love, your niece, Becky Ann.
