Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Corporal Daniel H. Groves

I never had the opportunity to meet you, but I think of your sacrifice every time I pass your blue ribbon in the Frisco Office and take every chance I can to go to Saphire Point on Swan Mountain. It's a sacred place because of you. You will never be forgotten. Thank you, sir.

Dan, you were a good friend. You did the right thing and helped the people of Colorado. I'll never forget the time I shared with you in call taking after your injury. Those were good times and you were a good person. Rest in peace brother. You were a good person who strived to do the right thing. I hope that those who join this agency continue to strive to do the good you did.

Rest in Peace. Just know you did the right thing.

Dan was a kind, generous, funny, smart, talented, fair, and inspirational person. Thank you, Dan, for your humor and appreciation for puns, which are, by far, the highest form of humor. It take a fine mind to edit errors automatically.
The world lost you too soon and my prayers and promise to forever watch out for Eddie will continue. What a beautiful love story that unfolded...
Thank you for your service, and I am so sorry that we can’t turn back time and change what happened. You deserved better.

Today marks one year since you've been gone.
Your corny jokes and funny, random messages are still sorely missed, my friend.
Super Groovy Groover - I hope you're enjoying those Cheeseburgers in Paradise as you watch down upon us.

Dan,

I was lucky enough to spend 21 weeks with you in the academy that started July 16th, 2007. Seems like a lifetime ago.

We all called you old man, even though you weren't the oldest in the class. It was our way of showing you we loved you. You were a great friend, and a great man. I hope and pray our paths cross again one day.

On behalf of the Klamath County Sheriff's Office in Klamath Falls Oregon, we send our sincerest sympathy in the recent loss of your Corporal, Daniel H. Groves, in the line of duty. It is always a huge loss when a fellow Corporal makes the ultimate sacrifice. His bravery and courage to protect and serve your community has not gone unnoticed.

Trooper Groves - The weather was just awful. Most of us who live here were stuck inside and complaining. You were already working out in the midst of the hard driven snow.

Your loss is tragic to those who love you and who were loved by you. We, who live in Colorado, often take for granted the courage and commitment of the CSP Troopers and their support team members who have to go out in the dark of night and in the adverse weather conditions.

Thank you for your service to the people of Colorado. May God grant you eternal rest and may His perpetual light shine upon you.
