Officer Nguyen, your passing is a stab at the heart for all of us in your extended family, but the blow to those who know and love you best is the most vile. The only advantage they have is their memories they can cling to which will keep you near them forever.

A Prayer for Police Office Vu Nguyen:

Heavenly Father, I boldly and humbly come before Your throne in sincere faithful and fervent prayer as we remember in this moment our Brother-in-Blue, Police Officer Vu Nguyen, of the Cleveland, Ohio Division of Police, who sacrificed his life in the Line-of-Duty. We recall with gratitude and respect all that he stood for in this life. Help us to live in the companionship of his spirit. May we be kind to the family, friends, and colleagues he loved; devoted to the community and state in which he served; and loyal to the causes which he championed in law enforcement. For the Scripture says: God blesses those who work for peace for they will be called the children of God ; there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends; I [Jesus] assure you, today you will be with me in Paradise, and; God blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Thus, in our lifetime, may Police Officer Vu Nguyen live on, to our great comfort, to the betterment of Your creation, and to the furthering of Your most Holy Will. Amen.
