"Somebody killed a policeman today,
And a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect who shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights,
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids
And spend alone many long nights.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield, too,
Just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
It happened in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now, his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call and gave us his all,
And a part of America died."

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

City of Milwaukee Police Department, Milwaukee WI

Another Cowardly Assassination...of Heroic Warriors... They Don't Do It for Gratitude...Because Thank You is Rarely said, They Don't Do it for the Fame... Because it's Better People Not Know what you do, They Don't Fo it For The Money...Because You can Barely Make Ends Meet, They Don't Do It to Be Liked...Because They Face people Every Day Who Hate Them for What They Wear, What They Represent, They Do, Do It...To Make This World a little Safer, Any Small Difference They Can Make, Any Person They Can Protect, Any Child They Can Save, Any Person in Fear, They can Comfort just a Little at The Worst Moment of Their Life...Is Why They Do It!! It's a Selfless Calling to Put Others...Before Themselves...It's a Rare & Special Breed of Person that Can Do This Day in & Day Out...The World Is a little less Safer Today. A Nation of Blue Cries for You Brother...God Has Called You Home, to Rest My Brother...We Have The Watch From Here...My Thoughts & Prayers are w Family & Loved Ones of Deputy Taylor.
