Reflections for Sergeant Sean McNamee Gannon

Sean,

My brothers and sisters from COMM Fire were there that tragic night at 109 Blueberry Lane. I still think about the call to this day.

The sounds and sights from the scanner and videos are absolutely gut wrenching. But, know that you died a hero!

It's been almost 4 years, but your legacy lives on!

God speed!

"Then I heard the voice of the LORD saying "Whom shall I send and who will go for us?" And I said "Here am I. Send me!"" ~Isaiah 6:8

Sean,

I read about Nero’s Law and shared your story with family and friends; my ex-K9 partner was especially touched by your sacrifice and we all know, as any officer does, that it’s only by the grace of god sometimes that we live or die in those dangerous situations. My buddy’s departed Shepard “Harry” has hopefully found you by now. Rest In Peace brother.

for Sean,

“Dauntless”

He did not expect death that day,
Nor seek what renown came behind.
Just, our fears he toiled to allay —
True and Strong upon the thin blue line.

I hope that everyone can find comfort in Revelation 21:4 where it says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Until we see him again in Paradise, please accept my condolences.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Sean was killed in the line of duty.

To the Gannon family, fellow officers, and all who call Sean beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you. In reading the many reflections left for you, I can see what an impact you made on so many people.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Sgt. Gannon gave to his community and the citizens of Massachusetts and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on April 12, 2018.
