Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Eric Joseph Joering

I thought of you today, but that is
nothing new.
I thought about you yesterday and
days before that too.
I think of you in silence,
I often speak your name.
All I have are memories and your
picture in a frame.
Your memory is a keepsake from which
I'll never part.
God has you in His arms,
I have you in my heart.

That hollow feeling never goes away. It’s a void that can never be filled. This world was a much better place with you in it…but how lucky Heaven is to have you!! Till the day we meet again, my friend

Today I remember you and Morelli, because my dad was killed the same day many years before you. I was reflecting and writing on facebook about my dad that morning I heard about your tragedy as well. I stopped and started crying, immediately knowing how your family will feel and what they will endure. And now 5 years later, it's still fresh in minds of many. My prayers and thoughts are always with your family this day as I reflect about my dad. You are missed and remembered, rest in peace.

I hope that everyone can find comfort in Revelation 21:4 where it says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away." Until we see him again in Paradise, please accept my condolences.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Eric was killed in the line of duty.

To the Joering family, fellow officers , and all who call Eric beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you and your partner.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Eric gave to his community and the citizens of Ohio and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on February 10th, 2018.

Deepest condolences to Family, Department and Friends. Visit the web site ImagineHeaven.net for a glimpse of the Glorious Reunions awaiting. All law enforcement men and women indeed qualify as "Foxhole Christians" with their duty dangers. As Ray Comfort at LivingWater.com says "Passing is the doormat they wipe their feet on before entering Heaven.” It is our belief they will hear from the Lord Himself. “Do not fear. for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom” (Luke 12:12).

Hey Eric. It’s been 2 months and It still doesn’t seem real. I miss talking to you over at the bureau and walking into roll call and bugging you while you ate your lunch. I always liked to run things by you, but you never managed to tell me anything I didn’t already know. I guess you weren’t that smart after all so why did I bother? Anyway, I miss you brother. Rest easy. Until we meet again....
