Rest in peace Trooper Allen.

Rest in Peace Trooper Allen. Your life will never be forgotten. Your dedicated service forever honored. As we were traveling south of Fairfield on I 45, we noticed flowers and a thin blue line flag. We knew it meant a fallen blue family member and found your story on the ODMP Thinking of you, your family, friends and colleagues.

Rest easy brother. I sure had some fun times with you. So many fun times! You’ll never be forgotten in this ugly world and I know you’ll protect me. Tell my mom I love her, and that I miss you both. You’d be proud of Kasey. She’s fighting so hard for you and us. I know you’re enjoying that barbed wire halo and them Texas sized wings of gold. Miss you bro

I hope that everyone will find comfort in the scripture Acts 24:15-"And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Until we see our loved ones again in Paradise on Earth, please accept my condolences.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Damon was killed.

To the Allen family, fellow officers, and all who call Damon beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Trooper Allen gave to his community and the citizens of Texas and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on November 23rd, 2017.

While walking my inlaws dog, some young man gave me a remembrance bracelet in honor of Damon. I never personally met Damon but I can tell he impacted many lives in positive way, I’m currently stationed at Fort Bragg and will wear this bracelet everyday in his honor.

Thank you all for these remembrances. My husband was a very dedicated Trooper but an even more dedicated father and husband. He was as close to perfect as you can find this side of heaven and I miss him horribly. Thank you for praying for us, especially our youngest, she's heartbroken right now to the point only prayers can ease it. We appreciate all the love and support that has been given.

I hope that the man who did this gets the punishment he deserves in court. An officer takes risks every day, and people can be really ungrateful to these heroes. While i can't say I understand the world, all I can say is that you have my condolences, and I give my utmost respects.

I feel how weak and fruitless must be any word of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save. I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.

Yours, very sincerely and respectfully,

Abraham Lincoln
