On behalf of myself and my family we send our condolences to the officers family to his fellow officers at the university of Texas for the tragic loss of EAST? There are no words in the English language to convey the pain we feel as active or retired police officers when we lose an officer Who is doing hus sworn duty that he eccepted when he accepted his police commission. No one outside of law-enforcement to never understand how tragic this lawsuit is, when we lose the officer I always felt that was like losing a brother, son, or a daughter. The dispear that we feel does not go away overnight, and it last for months or even years. May God wrap his arms around the family, his fellow officers and the agency and they Saint Michael protect those officers Who remain behind. Officer EAST you will now be patrolling the streets of heaven along with many past fallen officers. God bless

WHEN A POLICE OFFICER IS KILLED, IT'S NOT AN AGENCY THAT LOSES AN OFFICER, IT'S AN ENTIRE NATION.
"BLUE LIVES MATTER"

Retired/Former Texas State Trooper Sence
TX DPS

"Somebody killed a policeman today,
And a part of America died.
A piece of our country he swore to protect
Will be buried with him at his side.
The suspect who shot him will stand up in court,
With counsel demanding his rights,
While a young widowed mother must work for her kids
And spend alone many long nights.
The beat that he walked was a battlefield, too,
Just as if he'd gone off to war.
Though the flag of our nation won't fly at half mast,
To his name they will add a gold star.
Yes, somebody killed a policeman today,
It happened in your town or mine.
While we slept in comfort behind our locked doors,
A cop put his life on the line.
Now, his ghost walks a beat on a dark city street,
And he stands at each new rookie's side.
He answered the call and gave us his all,
And a part of America died."
