Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrolman W. A. Hail

Oh how I missed having you around growing up. The family works hard to make sure your sacrifice is never forgotten. I will always miss you and I am grateful I have been given the opportunity to walk along side other families who walk this journey.
Thank you to those who have left reflections, it means more than you know.

How pathetic and totally tragic that a hero such as yourself, Patrolman Hail died doing your due diligence. We know kids like fun but that was going way overboard. Rest in peace!

Patrolman Hail,
On today, the 40th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a LEO but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army during WW II. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Brother, you died while facing one of the stereotypical 'crimes' most people think we campus guys face. You did the right thing. These 'kids' had broken a rule and should have been caught and I applaud your effort. It's such a shame that your sacrifice came because of such foolishness on the part of older children.

I applaud also that at least some of them tried to right their wrong. I hope each and every one of them reflect on that night often and teach their own children the folly of those actions.

Thank you for your service as a WW2 Veteran and as a Brother in the Blue Campus Family. I know that your descendants honor that service and take pride in it.

Rest in Peace, Patrolman Hail and God Bless you.
