Mason,
You weren't simply my LEO brother, you were my real brother. I remember putting on a brand new class A uniform when I went to the academy to watch you graduate, it was stiff, hot, and uncomfortable on that warm SC day. I remember how proud I was posing in our uniforms so mother could take pictures. I remember how proud I was with the great reports I received from your Sargent and FTO as you progressed through that phase. I cannot tell you how many times my chest swelled with pride each time another mutual LEO friend looked me up just to tell me how good a LEO you had become. I will miss our long running text conversation regarding the weird things encountered in our mutual profession. I was fortunate to not just be your older brother, I was also your friend.

Rest well Brother, your watch has ended.

We live each day as our last , love like there is no tomorrow and dream even when it is not promised. Mason you were a great friend. We lost touch as most people do, because life happens. But the true test of a friendship is seeing each other months or years apart and being able to have a conversation like we just talked yesterday. I pray for your family. I pray for the men and women who not only lost a friend but lost a piece of them on that day. I pray for the communities that you gave your all to, in Mt and Sc. I hope that your wife and children know that we are here. Rest In Peace my friend .

I am deeply troubled by your death, moreover the circumstances surrounding it, but I am even more troubled inside for your family for the sorrow and confusion that must come along with such a nonsensical tragedy. The murderers that committed this crime deserve only the brutalist punishment, along with every decent persons wishes that their souls burn in hell.

Please try to take comfort in Jesus words found at John 5:28,29 where he said that there would be a resurrection. Live for today for tomorrow may never come and yesterday is know a memory. So often we hear Thank those that serve. The first thought often times is the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard. More often then not those serving on the home front are forgotten, Sheriff, Deputy's, Troopers' City Police/Detectives, Border Patrol Tribe Police even EMT'S and all the first responders. These men and women do a thankless job often times with out even a hand shake or thank you. Some of these men and women serve in our dangerous inner city's risking there life every day. While others like Deputy Mason Moore serve in rural towns and county's where back up might be 30 miles away. I am from one of those rural towns in Montana where law enforcement is 30 miles away and one Deputy serving the southern boundary's of that county. Usually our Deputy has some back from other agency's but they may be 15 miles away. My first quote was to remind us we only have a guarantee of right know. Remember to thank all of those who protect and serve because you may not get another chance.

I want to thank Deputy Mason Moore for his sacrifice in trying to protect Montana. I want to express my condolences to his wife and children for there sacrifice. I want to thank those who responded here from all over the country with there Truly heart felt Reflections. None of use know when God will call or how he will call.

Remember the next time you see one in a mini mart, or a restaurant, or even if there lights are in your mirror to say thank you for protecting us believe me it means a lot to them to know that we do care because tomorrow might not come.
