Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Mason Palmer Bethea Moore

Being the widow of a retired Sgt who passed away from non work related illness, I know the pain of losing your spouse. We worked in law enforcement together and I respect all law enforcement officers and their families especially those that make the ultimate sacrifice. My heart goes out to Mason’s wife and the rest of those that loved him. May he RIP.

I just watched what happened to Deputy Moore and wanted to express my condolescences. His story was one of the hardest ones I've watched. I'm so glad to learn his children are doing as well as could be and his wife is doing spectacular to insure all law LEO's safely return home.

My dear Mason, it has been 5 very long years, but then again, it seems like it was just yesterday. I think of you everyday, but you have been heavily on my mind today, 05-16-2022. It took almost the whole 5 years for your "executioner" to get tried, convicted, & sent to the state prison...but it is finally done! Jodi & the children carry you in their hearts all of the time & everywhere they go. They are bravely & proudly using your name to carry on your commitment of service for your community , LE Officers, Fire Fighters & fellowman. Love you , My Dear, to "Infinity & Beyond"!

Mason, Miss you bud. It's been 2 long years since we last spoke. Can't believe how much has changed. Jodi has done so much to honor your name. She is amazing, and continuing your fight. Passed by a corn field today and thought of the time that we had to stop for a photo op. It made me smile, at least for a minute. Thanks for all you did for me, our community and for humanity in general. You are truly a hero. See ya again in heaven.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Mason was brutally murdered in the line of duty.

To the Moore family, fellow deputies, and all who call Mason beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.

Although I try to read all the memorials for fallen officers, I have to admit that when I read of your brutal murder I became angrier than usual because of its cowardly circumstances and deliberately targeting of our law enforcement officers.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Deputy gave to Moore his community and the citizens of Montana and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on May 1, 2017.

I hope everyone will find comfort in Acts 24:15 - "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Until we see our loved ones again on an earthly Paradise, please accept my condolences.

It’s been a year to day that we received the tragic news of Mason’s EOW. My prayers still go out to Jodi and his three children. I worked with Mason at the Clarendon County Sheriff’s Office and considered him a good friend. His easy going style and demeanor was a trade mark that few in law enforcement can claim. He will not be forgotten. RIP brother, we still got the line and the walls.

Mason, Beother, it's been a long year. Wish you were still here to share it with us. I know you're looking down at us, smiling. I know you, your mom and dad had a wonderful reunion throughout this past year. Jodi and the children are getting along pretty well with the help and support of our blue family. You had the last word with me though, making me speak in public at your memorial. You knew I hated public speaking, wearing ties, and wearing shoes. Lol! We'll continue to try to keep things going down here. Keep watch over us and enjoy the streets of gold.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted your family to God every morning for over six years. I pray that Mason's life and death will bring glory to His name.

Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.
