Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Jason Allen Garner

Today marks the 5th year of your EOW on May 13, 2017. I am the founder of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit called Blue_Wives_Matter and we offer support to the families of fallen officers, regardless of cause of death. I came to know your loving widow and 2 sweet sons when we were able to offer them much needed support back in 2018. I am happy to say that your family is doing well. We send your sons law enforcement patches every month as a reminder that neither you nor they have been forgotten and they just love when they get their special packages in the mail from Blue_Wives_Matter.

Thank you for the remarkable sacrifice you made back on that fateful day. I wish it didn't have to happen and you could be here yourself to watch your children grow up. Rest assured that along with you watching over them from Heaven above we here will be watching over them as well. You will never be forgotten and neither will your beautiful family.

Deputy Sheriff Garner, rest in peace.

Rabbi Lewis S. Davis

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Jason died in the line of duty.

To the Garner family, fellow deputies, and all who call Jason beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.

I met two of the Stanislaus deputies at the Wall during Police Week, and their grief for you was palpable. I did the only thing I could do at the time which was to give them a big hug.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Deputy Garner gave to his community and the citizens of California and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on May 13, 2017.

I hope that everyone will find comfort in the scripture Acts 24:15-"And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous andAnd I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection+ of both the righteous and the unrighteous the unrighteous." Until we see our loved ones again in Paradise on Earth, please accept my condolences.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray Psalm 91 over all LEO’s and this prayer also:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted your family to God every morning for over six years. I pray that Jason's life and death will bring glory to His name.

Trust those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

My condolences to the families and friends of Deputy Sheriff Jason Garner and civilian Community Service Officer Raschel Johnson. Losing a loved one is always difficult. Please try to take comfort in Jesus words found at John 5:28,29 where he said that there would be a resurrection. Just think of the time when we will see our loved ones again, in paradise conditions, here on earth.
