What a terrible thing. We honor the memory of Chief DiSario, who gave his life in the line of duty. We will never know how many were saved by his presence, even though his life was cut short by this murdering coward. May God bless his memory to his wife and all of his children.

Ever since our horrible losses in one day, and the tremendous outpouring of support from across the nation, I wear my mourning band for three days for each notification I receive of a line of duty death. Every time I think it is safe to take off, I have to put it back on. My black band is on my badge, over my grieving heart for Chief DiSario.

To Mrs. DiSario and to all of Chief DiSario's children, I am so sorry for your loss. Our nation owes you a debt that can never be repaid. No words can or will ever be enough to come close to be comforting. Know the men and women of law enforcement in this country and many others share in your sorrow. I'm sure the Kirkersville Police Department and the citizens will surround, protect, and help provide for you. Your husband and father... the loss of his life was not in vain. He is a hero in every sense of the word.

Again, my heart goes out to you and my prayers are that the Lord be there for you know and forever to help, hold, and love you. God Bless your family.

Dallas Police Department

A police officer should be remembered not by how he died, but how he lived! A great man has gone to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you to you, your family and the Kirkersville Police Department. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace Brother!
