Keith. You are my childhood friend, my brother, my buddy. I was living in Abu Dhabi when you were so brutally taken. Though I was a half world away, our friends alerted me to your senseless murder before you even arrived in the ER. PLEASE FORGIVE ME...F@#k that bastard..may he rot in hell for eternity. He took my brother from me. When I was notified, I remember how we just spoke 3 days earlier when you told me we would have breakfast together one day at Scotty's. Im still waiting for you brah...chicken fried steak with biscuits and gravy. I love you brah..

Officer Boyer made a sacrifice that most people would never dare make. He went out and served the community for 27 yrs and I know for a fact changed many people's lives through out his time. It is unfortunate that someone would selfishly take the life of a Officer Boyer who was just trying to make the community he served safer for everyone. As I begin my journey into law enforcement the story of Officer Boyer has shown me that I should cherish every minute I have with my family because anything can happen in the blink of an eye. My condolences go out to Officer Boyer's family.
I did not have the honor of meeting Officer Boyer but with the amount of years with the department I must say that Officer Boyer had an amazing career. I strive to hopefully have a career like Officer Boyer. Thank you for your service.

Officer Boyer,

Your courage and dedication to the community and department will always live on. From what I’ve heard you were an amazing man who cared about his family deeply. I knew a relative of yours, Rachel. She and I used to work together and she spoke of you very highly.

You are an inspiration and a hero for all that you have done. As a recruit I can only hope to have an accomplished career as the one you had. You set a great example and role model that many hope to follow. My thoughts and prayers are always with your family. Thank you for your service

Officer Boyers passing in 2017 was a major wake up call or me, considering it happened down the street from where I grew up. This tragic event showed me that even though Law Enforcement does their best to better the communities they serve and protect the lives of others. Many people don't want them to succeed and will go to extreme measures to stop them from doing their job. This tragic event that officer Boyer had to go through in the line of duty taught me a valuable lesson. That the majority of Law Enforcement Officers are willing to go to great lengths to do their job even though they know that there are many people trying to stop them. My condolences go out to Officer Boyers family and fellow partners, the loss they went through is unbearable. The City of Whittier and all of Los Angeles County have suffered a great loss as well with this painful event.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Keith was killed.

To the Boyer family, fellow officers, and all who call Keith , my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace. I hope that your family knows that a nation mourned for you.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Boyer gave to his community and the citizens of California , and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on February 20, 2017.

Officer Boyer was the first officer to die near my home since I began my journey to become a peace officer. His death was a stark reminder of what officers risk on every call, no matter how mundane. That didn't stop Officer Boyer from going out everyday and trying to make his community a better place, he didn't let fear keep him from helping others. I will always remember his sacrifice and never forget what it means to put your life on the line.

I hope everyone will find comfort in Acts 24:15 - "And I have hope toward God, which hope these men also look forward to, that there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous." Until we see our loved ones again on an earthly Paradise, please accept my condolences.

I am both humbled and honored to ride in memory of Officer Boyer in Law Enforcement United’s 2018 “The Road to Hope” tour May 10th, 11th, and 12th, 2018.

In reading the reflections on this page of those who knew and served with the Officer Boyer, he was truly one of the finest.

The circumstances that ended Officer Boyer’s watch serve as a reminder to all of the dangers of this profession. Our families are as much the hero and we owe it to them to make every effort to return to them at the end of each shift.

Rest easy, the brotherhood will maintain the watch. You and your family will never be forgotten.

Officer Boyer, I never had the honor in meeting you, but I did have the honor in living where you patrolled. I watched your funeral on TV. I was truly amazed at the amount of people in attendance. That to me truly showed how big of an impact you made in everyone's lives. Hearing the stories being told by your children had a big impact in me. Your positive attitude and smile was contagious. I wish to have the same impact in peoples lives and will work to make that impact possible. Thank you for your service and also would like to thank your family for allowing you to be so committed to your career. If I was them, I would want to be selfish and keep you home, but they understood your infectious attitude was needed in the City of Whittier. God bless!

Officer Boyer, may you forever rest in peace. It has been just over a year since our passing, and people from not just the Whittier community, but from all around the nation still gather to honor you. Your commitment to the community you served for so many years is a testament to your character and humility. Working with you for three years, your presence brought so much joy to everyone you were around. You always brightened everyone's day and treated all people with respect. I strive to be the kind of Officer that you were. It still saddens me to this day knowing that you are no longer with us, but I know that your memory will live forever. It was an honor to work for the same department as you for three years, and to see how you carried yourself in such a professional manner. I could never tell when you were having a good day or bad day, because your attitude was always great. I hope to instill the same values that you had into myself as I begin my career. Thank you Officer Boyer for everything you did, God bless.

One year ago today when I was enjoying my RDO, I discovered that an officer in the city I live in was shot. I left my house and went for a run. I put on my running shoes and went for a run down Mar Vista Dr. as far as I could. The area was contained and I was met by a Whittier officer who said it wasn't looking good. I walked the rest of the way home. From a police officer living in Whittier... WHITTIER STRONG!
