Reflections for Officer First Class Michael David Louviere

May God watch over the Family and Fellow Officers that put their lives on the line for us everyday. We all lose when one of these heroes fall. And this one was a terrible loss. I hope his family will find some type of peace during this time of mourning. God will not let them down. Keep Faith and know he is in a better place.

Dear Mike:

I write this reflection to you out of respect and anger. The respect comes from a brother officer who understands the desire to help people as you tried to do. I don’t think I know any police officer who would have continued on their way home, ignoring the scene you found. You did the right thing, as most of us always do.

The anger comes from the fact that yet again, a young widow has to contend with living alone without her soulmate, and all her dreams shattered by a piece of human waste not worth mentioning here other than the fact that that bastard is no longer here. (“For the candle of the wicked shall be out forever”) The anger knowing that 2 little kids will now grow up without Daddy to walk her down the aisle, or watch his son take his first shave and make his first sounds of being a man.

“Protect and serve”, our creed. You exemplified what law enforcement officers are willing to do with our creed. Rest in peace, we have the watch. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice and that of your family. May Almighty God grant them peace and comfort and healing, and may Almighty God bless you and all our law enforcement officers.

Lake Mary, (Fl) Police
