When i start my tour of duty god, wherever crime may be, as i walk the darkened streets alone, let me be close to thee. Please give me understading with both the your and old let me listen with attention until their story's told. Let me never make a judgmet in a rush or callous way. But let me hold my patience, let each man have his say. Lord if some dark and dreary night i must give my life, lord with your everlasting love protect those special in my life.

Our family sends their deepest and most heart felt condolences to Officer Mauldin's family and to the Miller County Sheriff's Department. Such a tragedy and loss. If I may offer a verse from an unknown source;

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always to your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

This is a time that all must find strength, courage, and wisdom to overcome all burdens and obstacles that they may face, AND give honor to the memory of this officer who has given all in the line of duty.

God Bless.

My heart goes out to you and all of your loved ones. I was in law enforcement for over 30 years and would always say that those that work in corrections are so brave because you are locked inside with the animals in their cages and unarmed. God be with you beautiful angel.

Father of fallen Chicago Officer: Michael P. Gordon, EOW: 8/8/04

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted your family to God every morning for over five years. I pray that Lisa's life and death will bring glory to His name.

Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

I am a (Female) Corrections Officer from Tompkins Co., (Ithaca) NY. Lisa's death is very upsetting. We all know that this is a dangerous job, but when danger becomes a fatal reality, it hits all of us hard. It could be any one of us. My heart goes out to her family and fellow officers. It doesn't matter that I did not know her personally; she was my sister. She will remain in our thoughts for evermore. Thank you Lisa for your service. You will forever be in our hearts.
