Reflections for Trooper Cody James Donahue

Cody, I remember that time we had a suicidal guy in Harris Park, and you came out off duty to help cover us. You were one of those guys who epitomized the "thin blue line." I wish I could have gotten to know you better, but I know that I am a better person for the brief time I knew you. Thank you for your service, your sacrifice, and your example. Rest in peace, our fallen brother.

173 people have commented to you on this. I will be 174. I have never stopped talking or thinking about you. I hope that one day your daughters will read this page and find my comment. I have had the best year with your girls. They are beautiful and unique ladies growing up to be amazing adults. It has been my Honor to watch them grow up. It has taken me these last 7 years to start to move on. This will be the first year I will not be able to visit you on your LODD day. I Love you my friend and will never stop checking in.

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

It was an honor to attend your celebration of life. The small glimpse we got of who you were, showed the huge loss your family and the State of Colorado have endured. It is clear you will be missed, and no life you touched has been unaffected.
