John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Officer Brotherson,
You do not know me... We never met but you have impacted my life greatly. The day of your funeral I attended with my father... it really hit home and even though I am not a police officer I felt the brotherhood and sisterhood very strongly and I couldn't hold back the tears. I have taken an interest to go to the police academy but that night after I got home... I knew in my heart that there is no doubt about it. Thank you for your service and for paying the ultimate sacrifice. When I become a LEO, everything I do will be in your honor. You will always be remembered, sir. Rest in Peace.

Even today, we still feel the pain of this young man's death. I worry for my officer every day as well as all of his friends. I wish he was still here with us. Rest in Peace Cody, I will always remember you.

I hope the family knows that so many of us who didn't really even know Officer Brotherson still think of him. We are missing a great guy here in West Valley. My daughter and son-in-law are also police officers and I worry for their safety every day.

We enter our profession hoping to serve and protect our soiety while deep inside knowing that we ourselves will be continually in harms way to do so. My brother, you served and served well, gave your very all, fought a good fight and are being blessed now for an eternity. God loves you and for those carrying on in your law enforcement family of brothers and sisters, know you are loved and will be missed at every roll call worldwide.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray:

“Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over five years. Feel those prayers. God is with you; He knows and will ease your pain.

Our faith helps us to see beyond the grave.

Standing watch
As I watch over Cody this night
No evil will enter this room tonight
I stand at attention out of respect for my brother
The feelings I get are like no other
I feel your presence with me as I stand
And keep thinking about that "fistbump" hand
The stories you told , the jokes you made
Will stay forever , laughing in my head
My watch is up . My time has come
I don't want it end but I must. It's done .
One final salute, to you my brother ,
I love you , respect you like no other .
It was an honor to stand watch tonight
Until we meet again on the other side. - love you brother
