As the wife of a police officer, I would like to express my condolences. My husband serves in a neighboring city and attended the service of Officer Hofer. His picture still hangs on our refrigerator now two and a half years later. The more I think of taking it down, the more I feel we should never forget our fallen. He is my reminder to always be grateful for our servicemen and to support those in our family who continue to suffer the loss of loved ones. Our prayers are with you every night.

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

Such a tragic loss. Officer Hofer will never be forgotten. Though I did not know him, my children grew up in Euless. So this touches so close to home. Continued thoughts and prayers go out to his family, both blood and blue.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when David was killed.

To the Hofer family, fellow officers, and all who call David beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Hofer gave to his community and the citizens of Texas, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on March 1, 2016.

May God be with you and craddle you in his arms. I JUST.CANT UNDERSTAND HOW YOU LEAVE THE MEAN CITY AND THEN GIVE YOUR LIFE IN SERVICE AND INSTEAD OF GIVING YOUR LIFE ON THE STREETS OF THE CONCRETE JUNGLE YOU GIVE YOUR LIFE ON A DIRT ROAD PROBABLY KILLED BY AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT.
