Laying in bed with my littlest thinking of you and what you would say about events of the last few months in our house. You always had an opinion

It has been over a year now I still can't believe it. I was in disbelief that night when I heard the radio call. Now here we are just over a year and another trooper in the same area is down. I think about you all the time and what a great trooper you became. I also pray for your family and the family of trooper Donahue I'm sure you invited him into heaven with open arms.

I never met you, but I think about you almost everyday. I hope that your daughter is doing well and that someday she will be an amazing woman like you. Your picture rides in my patrol car with me everyday and gives me confidence and a desire to be as good a Trooper as you were. Rest in peace.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Jaimie was killed.

To the Jursevics family, fellow troopers, and all who call Jaimie beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Trooper Jursevics gave to her community and the citizens of Colorado and for the supreme sacrifice she and her family made on November 15, 2015.

Jaimie you made one great Trooper and friend, and you will be truly missed as a friend and a sister in blue. It was always comforting either at Douglas County or when you went to State Patrol to hear your voice come over that radio. I know you will be keeping watch over us from above, but rest easy Jaimie. We will take the watch from here. Until we meet again.

Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God.

I was a truck driver in the line up of the closed interstate I-25 that night. I had a long haul student with me and we Spent the night safely on the side of the highway guarded by an officer until we met our required 10 hours off duty as we had ran out of hours as a result of the investigation. At least one cruiser with an officer was parked behind us all night with lights on and we are very grateful for looking over us like angels (no doubt with lots on his/her mind) while we slept in a precarious location but most of all the sadness of that evening is remembered daily along with appreciation for those who answer the Call of duty. Thanks to all who get up to a uncertain day and do so in movie inspiring fashion but without the fanfare, fame or glory. Your awesome. Trooper Jaimie Jursevics, family, friends and co workers for ever a part of my memories and prayers.
