Reflections for Deputy Chief Steven Joseph Bonano

Happy birthdsy in heaven , chief. Another year that you are away from so many people that misses you. Many of us are getting sick. More names are added to the memorial. Im still here and , lucky that no major issues have engulf my health. But , I know that some day I will be meeting so many of us who have left us when they should have had a longer time on earth. Continue to rest in peace.

Steve

I remember you first week at Aviaton. We were driving up Flatbush AVE and you said “pull this car over guarantee we come up with a gun”. Sure enough you were right. Good thing the 63 was “looking”.

Rest In Peace BOSS. You are a great guy

Steven, today is 9/11/21 20 years have passed since the attack that eventually claimed you. . And in January it will be five years since you left us. I think of you often. I remember how much life you had and how many plans you had. Sad that your days were cut short. You accomplished so much in your 53 years. How is the duty in heaven?

Chief
Thanks for your service to your great city and state. Your career track is similar to mine. Obviously you were one of the best to have commanded the elite ESU unit. Your zest for education and excellence is obvious. Thanks again for your sacrifice and your service to this great nation as well.
