Perry and I served it the 82nd Abn. Div. Artillery as our first duty assignment on Ft. Bragg, N.C. and were roommates, later reassigned to 82nd Sig. Battalion. I lost touch as the years have gone bye,but always thought of him from time to time. Truly broke my heart to find this out . My Prayers for the family, Rest in peace my brother.

Time may have passed (just over a year), you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

I Met Perry many moons ago while serving in an Army signal unit at Ft Bragg NC. He was my team Sgt. And a Hell of a Soldier. About ten years ago while visiting Indianapolis I got a little lost so I walked up to the first Police office I seen, And it was Perry, Small world. Now, I wish I had spent more time talking with him. He was a credit to the IMPD and My sincerest condolences to his wife and family.

I cycled with The Honor Roll and we started our journey in honor and memory of fallen LEO in Indy on 1 May. I had the honor and pleasure of wearing and then presenting an Honor Band to Officer Renn's Partner. We also had the pleasure of meeting his wife and she cycled with us for 20 miles after lunch. I'm sorry for your loss and thank you for allowing us to remember these heroes as we did.

I first met Perry in "87 at Ft. Bragg, NC He was my Team Sgt. And one hell of a guy, A great leader. I lost track of him after the army, But several years ago while getting myself lost Just NE of Indianapolis city I flagged down a patrol car and the officer inside was Perry Renn. We had a good laugh about a small world. The world will be a lesser place without Perry. Rest in Peace, Brother. AATW

I am a recruit in the LA Sheriff's academy, class 403. Although I don't know the Renn family personally, I want to extend my deepest condolences. I'd also like to thank Perry for his service and his sacrifice. We all have to leave this world at some point, but how many of us will be able to say we made this world a better place while we were here? Perry can. His work and his sacrifice make him a hero, and I hope everyone remembers him that way.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Perry was killed.

To the Renn family, fellow officers, and all who call Perry beloved, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Renn gave to his community and the citizens of Indiana, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on July 5, 2014.
