Reflections for Police Officer Alyn Ronnie Beck

I had the honor to actually work with Alyn! He was truly one awesome human being! I loved that guy! I would always tease him! To this day, I always think of him! I miss Alyn terribly so!

I knew him as Elder Beck. He was my MTC companion. He was funny and kind. We would wrestle in the dorm hallways with Elder Pratt and Elder Manges. He was a humble, gracious, and compassionate follower of Jesus Christ. Most of all he was my friend (more like a brother). The world is definitely a darker place in tje absence of his light. He is and will be missed--Til We Meet Again Elder Beck!

Although I don't know Officer Beck and Officer Soldo personally or their story personally, researching their lives and the unfortunate end of tour event was an honor for my Criminal Justice class. Your story, Officer Beck, has many achievements that only a hardworking family man can obtain. Thank you for sharing your story and your story and love is carried on through your family.

Although I never met these gentlemen, they served my community with great honor. 7 years ago is the first time in my life I felt such an evil and hate. I will always remember this day, the entire Vegas Valley erupted is chaos and compassion for the Families of the three. Ofc. Igor Soldo, Ofc. Alyn Beck, and Joseph Wilcox, you three men gave your lives in service of our community and country and I will forever be great full for the sacrifice you and your family gave that day. One day I will meet you all and express my sincerest gratitude. Until then reset in peace and be your brother's keeper so they can continue to hold the line.

Officer Beck has been on my mind quite a lot during the past few months filled with hatred towards law enforcement and towards people in general. He was a great man. He was a religious teacher for me and, though I don't regularly attend church at this time, I know he was a fantastic example to follow. Rest easy, Brother Beck.

Park named for fallen Las Vegas Police Officer to open this month

Posted on KVVU-TV Jan 13, 2020

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -- Las Vegas will celebrate grand openings at two parks later this month.

A grand opening for the new Officer Alyn Beck Memorial Park, 9220 Brent Lane, is set for 10 a.m. Jan. 31, according to a release from the city. There will be a memorial statue unveiling, a chance to meet the sculpture artist and refreshments. Sheriff Joe Lombardo will speak at the event.

The 10-acre park, built by Rafael Construction and funded by Skye Canyon developer Olympia Companies, has a lacrosse field, soccer fields, basketball court and a shaded playground with benches.

“Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer Alyn Beck was killed in the line of duty Sunday, June 8, 2014,” Mayor Pro Tem Michele Fiore said. “With full hearts, we will pause to remember him and his family.”

The second grand opening will be for the Jeremy Mitchell Huber Lacrosse Field at Teton Trails Park. The event will be at 10 a.m. Jan. 26, the release said. The event will include a lacrosse demonstration, the unveiling of a dedication plaque and refreshments.

The field's namesake, Jeremy Huber, died at age 18 on Jan. 26, 2015, and had been a lover of lacrosse.

“Huber’s memory, passion and dedication to the game he loved will forever be remembered,” Fiore said. “It was an honor for our community to name the lacrosse field for him on behalf of his family, friends and teammates.”

Fiore will attend both events.

I have the fortune to know friends of Officers Soldo and Beck. Both officers had stellar reputations and were outstanding officers. Officer Beck taught in the police academy. Friends of the officers have done presentations as to what occurred that day--it was all the more poignant since neither officer had a chance to react when shot by the vile perpetrators. The two suspects were losers who went hunting that day for police officers. They met their end swiftly once Metro Officers converged on the Walmart. I can only say that these deaths were tragic for Las Vegas but their deaths were felt throughout our state and shall never be forgotten. They were fine officers and family men gunned down because they happened to be peace officers and for no other reason. We shall always honor them for their service and sacrifice.

John 5:28, 29 - "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I pray that everyone can find peace in knowing that we will see this officer as well as many others again in Paradise soon. Until then, please accept my condolences.

My name is Recruit Vito from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department. I am on my 6th week with my training as I'm typing this reflection. I wasn't aware of this website until my Sergeant told my class to visit this website, and for that I am truly thankful. It is painful to read some of the stories yet a lot are inspiring.
To Officer Beck, I just want to say thank you very much for your service. It is tragic that you lost your life without a fight but make no mistake, your sacrifice will be an inspiration to me, and to the other new recruits who wish to serve their community. May you rest in peace.

Thank you to fallen Police Officer Alyn Beck. I, Cathy Navin and Robert Navin, co-founders of My Angel Café, have come to know of your life after it was abruptly ended on June 8th, 2014. I know the line-of-work you chose was not the easy road. It is road fraught with many adversities as you daily give of yourself to make a difference in another's life. Thank you for being a special individual who dedicated your life; and, exceeded expectations to serve your fellowman as a "Police Officer." In addition to working to ensure our safety and reduce crime in our city, I heard at your funeral, that it was your diligent work of engineering the "rescue" plan that was used by police officers the day they engaged the tragic incident which began in the pizza restaurant. I was moved when you loved ones spoke and all who followed at your funeral. To the Smith Center for the Arts, I carried a Verse of Grace that has been carried in three of Las Vegas' largest parades, featured on a News 3 Live Channel on Jan 20th,2014; hangs Center in a 9-11 Memorial Tribute in a Palo Verde High School for a beloved teacher, Barbara Edwards, killed on that day. I know you heard me recite for you in prayer the verse titled "I Saw His Face." I carried this verse there; because, it comforts people throughout the world who love God, who give of themselves daily letting their personal blessings flow to others. I share it relentlessly with the world because in 1998, God spoke to my spirit and told me: "Cathy, you will angel the world." Thereafter, he provided the words from heaven to my mind to share a personal near-death and/or after-life experience personal to me from a 1981 Frankfurt Germany hospital. Henceforth, for you Officer Alyn Beck, In Loving Memory of the one who has gone on to begin his life in heaven, I will now bring this verse to become a "Memorial Remembrance" for you and for the Officer who fell during the same tragic shooting, your friend and peer, Officer Igor Soldo. I know you are both okay as you will see this memorial from above as you stand with Jesus face-to-face. Before putting the poem here, let me extend to your loved ones, your peers, your friends both our deepest sympathies and condolences. Think not of the evil that prevailed that day, but of God who is greater in he the believer than he who is in the world. There is scripture in Isaiah that we can find this sentiment. And now, may all who read and accept this verse as not a gift of author, not of author, but of the "Holy Spirit," may they be comforted and blessed with his abundance of gracious favor!
I SAW HIS FACE
It was just one moment when I saw His face
A moment of grace, and lasting embrace
A gift I cherish

When I'm in trouble and tough times come
I see His face, and all is calm.
My journey to the other side was all too brief
I longed to stay with my Maker, you see

When we can't make sense of things,
And life's climb becomes too hard,
I stop and call on the moment of grace
a fracture of a minute, when I saw His face

Then, like warm water covering me in baptism,
the symbol of dying with Him,
being resurrected with Him,
and walking with Him gives a peace of mind
to surpass all understanding of any mind.

His face, so illuminated my mind and heart.
I know my Father is near, we're never apart!

JOHN 6:47 "I say to you, he who believes in me has everlasting life."
