He went to work that day and did not know
This shift he served would bring such sorrow
This call to duty would be his last
His time on earth is now his past
God set this day as his time to go
Rest in peace Deputy Pine, now a hero
He gave the ultimate sacrifice
With integrity and pride he paid the price
His family, friends and colleagues will mourn
As an angel in heaven he is now reborn
His golden heart stopped beating
Hardworking hands at rest
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the very best.

On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Jonathan was killed.

To Jonathan's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Deputy Pine gave to his community and the citizens of Florida, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on February 11, 2014.

You were and are my brother, one I considered to be a best friend. You are truly what it is to a be a great man and father. Today my heart has been torn from my chest and to see the ones you love so deeply, hurt they way they are right now. You were my partner, my financial advisor, my friend, my spiritual companion, and college football buddy. Your beautiful life you have shared with us, that created so many great memories will forever be engraved in mine. See it takes a special person to do the job that we do and you did it with such grace and admiration for others. You are a great father and husband. Your love for your family goes without saying. You have taught and raised such precious children and loved your beautiful wife as best a man could ever dream to. You never feared sharing the fire and passion you have for The Lord with anyone. My brother in Christ, you have blessed us all with your time here spent on earth. As you walk with Jesus, I hope you smile down at us and give us the strength and courage as will push on with life. I miss you so much and will always miss you.

My brother in heaven we love you! GO LSU!

You know; Almost any man or woman would die protecting what is theirs. It is a group of special Brothers and Sisters that risk and give themselves for the safety and welfare of others.
Our thoughts and prayers are with your Family my Brother. I pray God will take them in his arms and comfort them. I know you leaving us left a hole in the ranks that for your Family, friends and Brothers can never be filled. Rest in the knowledge that God has all authority and will avenge the righteous at the end. Go now my Brother and stand guard until we again all stand together again.

Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his own life for his friends

No words can express gratitude for your service and dedication. Never met but feel like I know you through your wonderful sister and her husband and how much they have portrayed about you. It's a shame that good men like you lose their life to the hands of those that try to destroy the very essence of what is good about this world. God Bless You for your service. Gone, but not forgotten.
