For Police Officer Patrick Hill:

The engagement in a pursuit or any police activity that occurs suddenly is often a series of actions that are more of a response than following in intended plan of action. In haste or while movement is hardly calculable the worst can occur. We regret that our brother Patrick would receive any wound, especially one that would be fatal, during the performance of his duty. Any experienced law-officer realizes this probably will not be the last situation with such horrific circumstances on the street. No amount of training or preparation guarantees any of us complete safety when a situation occurs. It simply is our lot.
We pray for Patrick's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.
We are proud to render Officer Patrick Hill, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.

Cpl. Ralph D. Fiorenza (Ret.)
Pennsylvania State Police
