On behalf of my family, I extend our sincerest condolences on the grievous loss you suffered when Bobby died.

To Bobby's family, my heart goes out to all of you and may you find comfort in your loved ones and your strength in your faith. When my son was killed, the entire law enforcement community in our area embraced us in a circle of love and support, and I know you will receive the same support. It makes the unbearable less torturous, and I pray for your solace.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the dedicated service Officer Bobby Hornsby gave to his community and the citizens of Texas, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on July 14, 2013.

Hey Bobby, just thought I'd chime in and say what's up.. It has been about a month and a half, and folks are still adjusting. Although things will never be the same, we are slowly improving. I'm just reflecting and thinking about the times we talked about Tundra's (before I downsized to my soccer mom's car,) and also think about the bbq that you and the family came to at Medo's house... If I'd had known that would be the last time, Lord knows I would have spoken to you longer...But know this, I am so happy knowing you were and are a man of faith.. You are in a place where there is no suffering, no illness, no hate, no crime... Kim is such an amazing woman and a testament of the power that our Lord possesses. I certainly hope her display of strength can bring the lost to Him. I visited your grave the other day and left a sentimental gift that was given to me by a great man several years ago and said a prayer.. Hope you accept it... It meant a lot to me... We all miss and love you bro...

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. "

Officer Hornsby,

Rest well in the arms of God.

To Your Family,

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are Your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with Your angels, loving family, friends, neighbors and caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name and for Your Glory, Amen.”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for over two years. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain

For Police Officer Robert "Bobby: Hornsby:

The law-officer who confronts a deranged individual who is armed with a semi-automatic rifle is always at exceptionally high risk. We regret that Bobby would be the latest casualty in such a situation. We are thankful for those who assisted him and for bringing immediate halt to further risk to themselves and others. We stand in awe of their, and Bobby's courage, to defend others. We pray for his family, friends, co-workers, and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.
We are proud to render to Office Robert "Bobby" Hornsby, a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.
