I am a civilian employee of the Lamar, MO Police Department and I can tell you I have seen alot of things over the past 19 years. I could never do what these BRAVE men and women do. They put their lives on the line every day and run into the face of danger. When everyone else is taking cover and running away they are there to try and save the innocent and sometimes not so innocent from themselves. Rest in peace Det. Smith. Your life had meaning to all of us even though we never met, I know of your bravery through your brothers and sisters that I work with daily.
