Officers encounter many unfortunate incidences in their line of duty. A hero was put to rest in a peaceful place. I really appreciate the service you provided and I am grateful for someone like you bringing justice to the country. You will always be on my mind hero. My thoughts and prayers goes out to your family.

Hey brother, just here thinking about you. I'll never forget the day when I received the news of your passing, I was getting ready to deploy. My heart hurts for your wife and the kids and they are constantly in my prayers. I think about the fun times we had together when we were both stationed at Lackland and you showed me what it meant to be a great cop and dog handler. Love you and miss you brother. Gone, but not forgotten. Until Valhalla

Well my brother, another year has come and gone but your memory still stays with me. I regret to say that I am a little late with this years post but each year it becomes a little more difficult to express exactly what needs to be said. So as always I will raise my glass and dedicate this moment, for here is to us and those like us, dam few left.

It took me a little longer to post since it is still difficult for me and the fact that my son AJ is now a deputy sheriff here in upstate NY. I still remind my criminal justice student's of you and your photo still hangs on my wall in my office. Peace be with you my brother and each year at this time I raise my glass for "Here's to us and those like us." You will never be forgotten.

The impression you have left on us that had the pleasure of knowing you is unspeakable. A year later we still cannot bear the load of looking and reading of this tragedy. We do know that you are watching over us.

Gary,

After reading all the other comments, the only thing I can think to add is:

Thank you for pushing me to come back to the team, I still carry the SWAT coin you gave me to help persuade me back. Your ambition was only second to your sense of humor. Thanks for consistently making us laugh when we needed to. And most of all, thanks for being there during college and work. You are sorely missed brother.

Godspeed.

We work together on the same squad when he started with the dept. He was a good man, loved his job and you knew you could count on him.

A great loss... my sympathy to his family.

First, I would like to say thank you Sergeant Gary Morales for his service to this country and giving the ultimate sacrifice. Second, I am a head football Coach at Millbrook High School in Winchester Va. We have started a new tradition at MHS. Each week the Football team will be paying tribute to a Fallen Hero. Whether that fallen hero was in the Military, Police force, EMT or Fire Fighter. This week, November 1, 2013 in our "Tribute to Heroes" the Millbrook Football Team will be playing for Sergeant Morales. Some people may say that we do this to get the kids pumped up for the game, that is not the case. It is to show the players another side of life besides Winchester, Millbrook and Millbrook Football. That there are people like Sergeant Morales that sacrifice their lives everyday for their safety! So from the Millbrook football team, thank you, and WE WILL be playing hard for you tonight!

Again, Thank you to Sergeant Morales and his family!
