Reflections for Police Officer Kevin Andrew Tonn

Hi Kevin!

As you know, I remember this day each year but choose to honor you on your birthday. At the gym today, one of your favorite songs came on. It’s always the same playlists, never heard that song at the gym before. ;)..so I thought I’d stop by this page and send you a written shout out.

Thank you for so many fun memories and the way you still show up for me and make me smile. I miss your laugh! I miss your sense of humor!

Always in my heart.

SEVEN-YEAR COMMEMORATION OF KEVIN'S SACRIFICE/EOW - 1/15/13

In reflection of Kevin's service and death, I thought it fitting to re-post my original tribute:

In refection upon Kevin's life and service, I've spent the day reading many of the wonderful notes-of-condolences. I wish to express my sincere gratitude to all of you who honored Kevin's life & service by taking the time to share your prayers, your tributes, and your comments of appreciation for his service.

As a former Volunteer Fire Fighter, Veteran & Retired Peace Officer, I have a special bond with those who serve us today, in life-saving professions and I am grateful for their unselfish dedication!

There is no higher calling than to serve others!
I SALUTE YOU ALL !

Kevin's passing is a stark reminder, that too often we don't say what we want to say, to family or friends; too often we let another day pass without doing the kind deed we planned to do.

Something one of you wrote grabbed my attention. It stated:

"Your work is done here on Earth - Heaven has called upon you today, leaving so many words left to say. But now it's too late, for your time has come, words unspoken; I am sure everybody has some. Regrets and wishes are probably there too, but lasting forever are memories of you."

My memories of Kevin will last forever, as will the regrets and wishes of unspoken, kind words to him....

Take time today, to say that kind word, to do that kind act - tomorrow may be too late!

For Kevin's parents, and sister, Julie -- for Kevin's cousin, Jarrett [who worked for Galt P.D., at the same time as Kevin] and for the Officers of Galt P.D., I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, will heal your broken hearts and grant you His peace.

And to the Galt P.D.; the Law Enforcement Community and the Chaplains - thank you so much for all your support during this difficult time. You have truly wrapped your arms of love around us, as you share our grief.

Thank you, Kevin, for giving your ALL, in service to your Country and the citizens of Galt.

To those still walking The Thin Blue Line -

BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

May God bless you and protect you as you watch over us!

I am sad when I read about this young officer who lost his life helping others. I have wanted to become a police officer my whole life and I also served in the us military. I'm sorry officer Tonn.
