Chief Edwards,
On today, the 63rd anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army during WW II and with the U. S. Border Patrol before you became a Police Officer. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

It is sad it took this long to get the recognition you deserve. I hope your family finds this recofnition one day so they know we truly respect the sacrifice you and your family made. I understand that at the time of your death you had a young son. I hope he knows that the sacrifice you made so many years ago continues to drive those of us who continue what you started. I want to say thank-you for what you represented and the sacrifices you made for people you did not even know. For that alone may you rest in peace.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 60th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
