Reflections for Police Officer Sean Louis Callahan

Another soilder has fallen.
A man who bore the shield.
The radio has become silent.
When a man in blue is killed.
Our hearts as a nation weep.
For men who stand brave and tall.
The flag is now flying low.
For a man who answerd the call.
To serve and to protect.
And to give his very best.
To stand among the many
That bare the badge on their chest.
So we stand and bow in prayer.
To a man who's job he loved.
And with a tear we say farwell.
As angels watch from above

Brother,

Thank you for your service to this community, to our nation, and to the world. I regret that we did not have more time to spend together. I remember the first time we met. You reported to the range for new hire training. At the end of our day my last words to you were "Congratulations and welcome aboard." I know that our Heavenly Father has prepared a place for you. You were strong and brave. I am thankful that we served together.

John 15:12-14
New International Version (NIV)

12 My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command.

Ephesians 6:10-18

The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.
