Miss you buddy, think of you all the time. I remember my brother busting one of our parties in uniform joking around then asked for a beer after scaring off half the party. You had mentioned after that my brother inspired you to want to become an officer one day I thought surely that would pass. Heard on the radio one day why hwy 75 was closed for dozens of miles for a fallen officer Sean Callahan and was like hey I know someone with that same name (we hadn’t spoken in a few years having moved forward into our adult lives) but then they said to bring him home to Cobb county and I was like uh oh.. looked on your Facebook page and saw it was you, I didn’t even realize you had followed through til finding out you made it, read into your story and you were determined, even went out it pocket and out of preferred zone to gain experience. You were such a good human and determined officer and funny friend. When I was the new kid transferring mid year into Lassiter early 2000’s you welcomed me without having to haze me first like the rest. You got the jokes no one else did and silently laughed with an contagious smile. You were too good to have lost as a friend, and would have become the right kind of officer. There’s no happy outlook to ease this pain it was a tragedy that need not be diminished with toxic positivity for the comfort of the living. I miss you wish we could catch up.

I always remember you although I never knew you personally. I helped escort you that day and rode with you in the elevator up to the operating room. I looked you in your eyes as you lie helpless. I knew the most tragic thing had happened to you. I remember your sacrifice till this day and will always remember you. I still remember the call over the radio of officer down which made my heart sink. My prayers and condolences to Officer Callahan and his family. You will never be forgotten.

Sean, it's been 8 years since we graduated from the Academy together, and I still think of you, especially at Christmas. A special ornament hangs at the top of our Christmas tree every year. It has your badge number on a blue ribbon. I miss you very much, my friend. Godspeed.

Officer Callahan, Rest well in the presence of the Lord.

To Your Family,

Feel His presence as God answers the prayers of many who have fallen to their knees on your behalf. Since the day of my son's death, I have carried every law enforcement officer and their family in my heart.

Every morning I go to my knees. During that time I pray, “Lord, Be with all law enforcement officers. Keep them safe and free from harm. They are your soldiers on the front line of the battle against evil. If one should fall this day - wrap their family in your loving arms. Surround them with loving, caring people to comfort them. Ease their pain. Help them to mourn well. In Jesus' name, Amen”

I have lifted you and your family to God every morning for 22 months. Feel those prayers. God is with you, He knows and will ease your pain.
