My heart goes out to the Lopez family and the Nassau County PD, for they have lost two officers in one month!
Maybe now that this offender has committed the ultimate offense will he stay behind bars where he should have been in the first place. If we could only keep violent offenders locked up, what a safer and peaceful country we would live in.
God Bless you Arthur, and may the peace of heaven be with you.

It matters not what patch is stitched to your sleeve, or what shield is pinned to your chest... It matters only that you wore both, and did so with honor. When an Officer is lost, every member of the Law Enforcement community feels the pain...

Many prayers and uplifting thoughts are en-route from my family to yours, to include every member of the NCPD...

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God." Matthew 5:9

Rest in eternal peace, PO Lopez...

My heart weeps for the family, friends and brother and sister officers of this fine, honorable officer. Would to God that he would instill in the hearts and minds of those you served the understanding of what it takes to do what cops do. The Bible states, "There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for a friend". What about that man who gives his life for others that he never knew. Officers all over this counrty willingly place themselves in harms way so that others (strangers) may live safe and peaceful lives. I heard a saying today I will share. "Yesterday is what we call history. Tomorrow is what we call the future. Today is a gift from God, thats why we call it "THE PRESENT". No man is promised a second longer than that second that he is living now. Knowing this, every officer in this counrty will stand and fight for those who can't fight themselves. Officers will be the thin blue line that divides the good from the evil. Officer Lopez, your sacrafice will not be in vein. I pray that your brother and sister officers will gain strength and courage from the memories they have of you. I pray that those you served will count the cost that was paid to ensure the peace they enjoy.

For Police Officer Arthur Lopez:

The duty of the police officer on the street is fraught with high risk. Art was the epitomy of courage and did what any good police officer is expected to do during his tour-of-duty. It is unfortunate that he did not utilize access to maximum protective equipment, yet it brings no discredit to his actions. In fact he demonstrated courage and dedication with exceptional boldness when facing the lowest of street scum who acted with contrasting cowardice - shooting a law officer and making flight.

We pray for Art's family, friends, co-workers and all who care about him. May they be ready to reach-out to one another in the days ahead.

We are proud to render Officer Arthur Lopez. a soldier-of-the-law, a final salute.
