I have to extend to this family my deepest sympathy. Please know that I feel your loss and I pray for your healing. I am the widow of Mstr. Sgt. Robert Douglas whose end of watch was September of 2008. I pray that this family will feel the love, care, and comfort that only Our Lord can provide. I pray that you never lose your faith, for it will sustain you. I feel greatly for the wife and children of this officer. Yet, another child has lost his/her father in the line of duty, another woman has lost her husband. Please remember, that there are many out here who care about how you are feeling, and who have walked through this valley that you must endure. I pray for peace for your hearts, and healing for your souls. I am so very sorry for your loss.

His Judgment Day:
The officer stood and faced his God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shinning, Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now, Officer, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek To my church have you been true?"
The officer squared his shoulder and said, "No, Lord, I guess I aint, Because those of us who carry badges can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was rough, And sometimes I've been violent Because the streets are tough.
But I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep.. Though I worked a lot of overtime, when the bills got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept an unmanly tear.
I know I don't deserve a place among the people here. They never wanted me around except to calm their fear.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don't...I'll understand.
There was silence all around the throne, where the saints often trod. As the officer waited quietly for the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now, Officer. You've borne your burdens well. Come walk a beat on heaven's streets, You've done your time in hell"

This has taken the wind out Oklahoma!
My brother was Parole Officer Jeff McCoy, killed May 18th, 2012 in Midwest City, OK.
My heart is broken knowing another family has to endure this pain. Our family grieves with and prays with you. May God hold he, his family and fellow officers close during this time. May you know that he will forever be in our memory. Most of all, I pray that somehow you may find peace knowing his life touched so many!
Rest now, Officer Chase. Oklahoma will never forget you!

I visited the Airborne Early Warning Association website tonight....something I do regularly, because once upon a time I was an AWACS Air Surveillance Officer.
Kelley Chase and I have it in common that, years apart, we served as Air Force Officers on a very demanding weapons system. I've been where he was after he separated, because I am now a Boston Police Officer--27 weeks of academy Been There, the next 17 years and change of on-the-street Done That.
I am heartbroken, even though I never knew him, because he is twice a brother....my heart goes out to his wife and kids.

Winston Churchill said
“We sleep safely at night because rough men stand ready to visit violence on those who would harm us.”

As a military veteran and a police officer this has always been one of my favorite quotes because it is so true and applicable to what we do. Kelley was one of those men. He spent many years in the military. He died while training as a police officer to continue to protect those sleeping safely. He is a hero for all time. RIP brother officer.

Your work is done here on Earth - Heaven has called upon you today, leaving so many words left to say. But now it's too late, for your time has come, words unspoken; I am sure everybody has some. Regrets and wishes are probably there too, but lasting forever are memories of you.
There have been many times that we waved to each other, but we were there for each other in time of need. Now it's time for us to say Good-Bye, until we meet again in heaven to fly. Now go and Patrol the Heavens Above and Watch Below those you Love. Thank you for your service.

Kelley, you were carried home on the wings of angels, wrapped in God's loving arms. Now guard the gates of heaven, forever away from harm. You live on in the hearts of those who love you. Your children carry your legacy. We will hold up your family in prayer & pray God give them His peace until they join you in heaven. Thank you for your service. It did not go unnoticed. Lord, hold Kelley's family tight in your arms, for his tour has now ended.
With deepest sympathy,
