My father grew up in Connellsville. My grandfather worked at the train station for the B&O railroad near the bridge. When Dad needed work after graduating high school, he went to Virginia to work at the Pentagon outside Washington, D.C. I later became a Cadet with the Metropolitan Police in D.C. and had a full career as a police officer with the Fairfax County Police, Virginia. I have fond memories from my childhood visits in Connellsville. I never knew of this officer's sacrifice in the line of duty.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
